My name is Teri Sousa and I have been the Director of Pines West Academy for ten years.

I am very proud of the school I work for and our wonderful Education First Curriculum which was inspired and based on the best known practices in the world. We have a well balance of academics but what makes us unique is our use of Thinking Routines, Thinking Keys and Making Children’s Thinking Visible.

In order for children to succeed as life long learners they need to be provided experiences that give them opportunities to wonder, ask questions, inquire and make connections. It is our passion to teach for understanding and I have a well educated, loving, nurturing team of teachers to put it into action.

I hope your child enjoys her/his time in school at PWA. You are always welcome to bring any issues, comments, or concerns to your teacher or to me. We work hard to make your child’s time in school with us a happy and productive one.
